Best photo editing for the mac user

I have a Nikon Z6ii and d750, both Round 24 gigabytes What size hard drive should I be getting in either a MacBook or iPad? Thank you in advance I’m leaning towards an iPad Pro - I really like using my iPad over a laptop. I’m thinking about replacing one of them for some light editing when I travel, then transfer to the iMac when I get home. I have an older MacBook Pro(small Harddrive) and iPad.
